She'll play all day long without much of a break until she just crashes an hour or two before her usual bedtime. Sometimes she'll forget the ball and just start running around the house. Surprisingly, she isn't very good at playing fetch she loves the chasing part, but not the returning part. She seems happiest if she and another dog trade places chasing/being chased. At the dog park, she isn't interested in playing fetch but will chase other dogs who are running down a ball. Related to this, is her love to chase things. She's never caught one, but will chase them if they're in the yard. This is mostly focused on smaller animals like birds and squirrels (especially squirrels). As some have mentioned, there's the very high prey drive. Here's what we've noticed that I think, based on what I've read, may be Feist characteristics (as opposed to just her personality): In fact, I didn't even know what they were until someone at the dog park suggested that's what she was. My wife and I do have a Feist, not sure which breed, but she is a GSD mix. The shelter doesn't seem to really do much in the way of behavioral testing or anything else.they don't even spay/neuter dogs before they adopt them out, they just make the adopter promise to do it. Although he typically gets along well with almost all dogs (the sole exception, for some reason: he's often freaked out by tiny little dogs), the other dog is unfortunately a total unknown in terms of how she is around others. I'm definitely planning to bring our dog along when we go to the shelter to meet this dog, for sure. But I go hiking or running by myself all the time, so it would be wonderful to have a dog who'd enjoy that with me, and then for my dog to have some dog companionship at home. We don't typically take the pug to the state park, since the hills are a little steep for him and he's not usually up for walking for more than a few miles, depending on the weather. Oh yeah, I definitely wouldn't exercise this dog and my pug together.
